SERVICES AND AMENITIES
	Douglas Care Community is located in the congenial James Bay neighborhood. We are walking distance to Beacon Hill Park or a leisurely stroll along Dallas road's ocean walkway. Shopping is a short walk to James Bay to reach James Bay square or a 15 minute bus ride to downtown Victoria. The bus stop is conveniently nearby. Our approach to care and services is guided by national standards for quality and it is our mission to improve the lives of our seniors and their families. We have received many words and letters of appreciation about our caring staff and the quality of our services.
We use the word "community" because we have been serving seniors in our community since 1985. In addition to that, we have created a "community" for seniors desiring a variety of different services. We provide a full range of care and services from minimal support services like meals and housekeeping all the way to 24 hour nursing care. Our "community" includes 3 separate settings designed to be appropriate for the specific needs of our seniors: The Valencia; The Residence; and, The Manor.
We believe that Seniors are individuals with differing needs and customs. With that in mind we consult with you, your family and your personal physician to develop an individual plan for your health care management. We employ a Medical Director and have contracts for service from a number of health professionals including a Pharmacist, Hygienist, Dentist, Dietitian, Foot Care Specialist, and Massage Therapist. Companion services are available upon request, as well as an on-site hairdresser, drycleaning service and our highly trained cooks develop balanced home made meals and snacks in our own kitchen.
